Hallo aus Potsdam
So here we are then, in Potsdam, sitting at a dodgy, dodgy computer at Griebnitzee (a small place of no consequence, even to those who live here... Katherine for example, except that there´s a small Potsdam Uni campus here), where the computer screen keeps flashing up and down on me... disconcerting. I realise now that I took uts´computer network too much for granted.
Well Potsdam is a lovely little town, even when it´s snowing, and is incredibly windy, and is even more incredibly cold... and it´s meant to be spring here, dammit! Maybe at some stage I´ll post some pictures up here, when I get to use my laptop, instead of this terrible old dinosaur, from the comfort of my relatively comfortable wohnheim.
Not really much to report, so I´ll stop waffling now.
Hopefully Graham or Luke will have something more substantial to say.

Sounds like you need more Lebensraum...but you didn't hear it from me. But yeah the new people in our class suck balls...well not literally (it'd be great if they did). Indecisive as to which uni I should go to next year, gimme your einstellung dagnabbit!

hi sam! Potsdam is a lovely city, and so close to berlin. I think you´d like it. Otherwise go to hamburg. That´s what I reckon anyway.

So how long does it take between potsdam and berlin? and why do reckon just potsdam or hamburg? you reckon go the cities over little uni towns? Sorry, too many questions. Tara

nah, well I haven´t been to any other unis, but for humanities and stuff, from what I´ve heard from others, Potsdam or Tübingen are good. We had friends here from Karlsruhe which is a really IT/ engineering based uni, and I´ve heard that Göttingen´s really maths oriented.
Whether you go to a city or a little town is really up to your preference. I like Potsdam cos it´s got the best of both.
Potsdam to bhf Zoo is only about 20 mins. Looks like there´ll be heaps of tourists here though when the weather gets better.

20 minutes? I've heard estimates of 45 minutes from potsdam to westkreuz by s-bahn, but obviously they're wrong.

20mins by the regional express, which goes twice an hour. It does take about 45 with the s bahn, but that´s also not so bad.
